Baloun's OT Goal Lifts St. Norbert Over Grinnell

GRINNELL, Iowa - Donny Baloun's goal in the tenth minute over overtime lifted St. Norbert College to a big 2-1 road win over Grinnell College at Springer Field.

St. Norbert improved to 9-4 overall and has won six of its last seven matches while moving to 4-1 in the Midwest Conference. Grinnell fell to 7-4-1, 2-1-1.

Baloun scored unassisted at 99:42 of the match, his third goal of the season and his second game-winner.

After a scoreless first half, John Cremer gave the Green Knights a 1-0 lead with his third goal of the season at 51:55. St. Norbert would hold the lead until St. Norbert was issued three cards in the final 10 minutes of regulation. Grinnell would tie the match on a penalty kick by J.P. Prouty with 41 seconds left in regulation.

Grinnell outshot St. Norbert 19-13 and held a 7-5 advantage in corner kicks. The Pioneers also held a 23-16 nod in fouls, although St. Norbert was whistled for three fouls in overtime while Grinnell wasn't tabbed with any.

Noah Davis picked up the win in goal for St. Norbert, making four saves. Ben Schemper made three saves for Grinnell.
