Green Knights Drop Season Opener to MSOE

DE PERE - St. Norbert College lost its season opener 1-0 in a non-conference match against Milwaukee School of Engineering at Schneider Stadium.

The Green Knights and Raiders battled to a scoreless tie after the first half. MSOE scored the game's only marker at the 58:47 mark, when Melina Lynn punched the ball past St. Norbert goalkeeper Maddie Plinska. Tori St. Martin assisted.

MSOE outshot St. Norbert 19-4. Katie Vanden Avond had three of the Green Knights' four shots.

Plinska finished with 11 saves for St. Norbert. Sydney Stephens made two saves in the second half to earn the win in net for the Raiders. Mary McFee made one save in the first half for MSOE.
