Green Knights Drop Two Duals to Open Season

EAU CLAIRE - St. Norbert College opened the 2015 season with a pair of non-conference dual matches against perennial regional powers, losing 7-2 at Carthage College before heading up I-94 to fall 9-0 at UW-Eau Claire.
The Green Knights picked up a pair of singles wins against Carthage. Elizabeth Manlick defeated Max Mella 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1 singles. Katherine Ake then claimed a three-set win over Eliza Barter at No. 3 singles by scores of 6-2, 6-7 (4-6), 10-4.
St. Norbert lost a pair of 9-7 decisions in doubles play. Manlick and Anna Gosz lost at No. 1 doubles to Mella and Angelica Emmanouil. Ake and Ashley Randazzo also fell by that score to Barter and Casey Frommer at No. 2 doubles.
Ake and Randazzo had St. Norbert's closest match in its loss to Eau Claire, falling 9-8 (7-1) at No. 2 doubles to Paige Kuepers and Olivia Gallagher.
