Green Knights Blanked by Marian

DE PERE - St. Norbert College couldn't muster any quality scoring chances and dropped a 3-0 decision to Marian University in a non-conference match at Schneider Stadium.

The Green Knights (3-2-1) outshot Marian 10-7, including 7-4 in the decisive second half, but couldn't find the back of the net.

After a scoreless first half, Marian (5-1) broke through with a goal by Alonso Fragoso off a drop pass from Zach Peltonen in the 54th minute. Jeroham Duran followed with a 35-yard blast in the 79th minute for a 2-0 lead. The Sabres closed out the scoring in the 87th minute when Peltonen scored on a give-and-go feed from Duran.

Ian Chacon made six saves for Marian to get the shutout. Eddie Sanchez made two stops for the Green Knights.
