Green Knights Place Fifth at Wisconsin Private Meet

MEQUON - The St. Norbert College men's cross country team placed fifth at the Wisconsin Private Schools Invitational held at Concordia University.
The Green Knights registered 122 points for their fifth-place finish. Ripon College won the meet with 59 points, while Beloit College was second with 64 points.
Gavin Strawn led the Green Knights with a 14th-place showing in a time of 27 minutes 47 seconds. Matt Leser match the time and finished one place behind in 15th.
Austin Gabrielse was 25th in 28:26, followed by Mike Buettner in 34th place at 28:51. Brian Curran completed the Green Knights' scoring with a 48th-place finish in 29:28.
Benji Wetli added a time of 29:36 for 52nd place, while Jacob Sircy was 62nd in 30:19.
Meanwhile, at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational at the Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne, Mackenzie Laska led St. Norbert's incomplete team with a 95th-place finish out of 494 runners with a time of 25:51. Alex DeVillers was 121st in 25:59, and Jon O'Brien was 232nd in 26:52. John Barrett was 315th with a time of 27:36.
