Green Knights Roll to Shutout of Yellowjackets

SUPERIOR - St. Norbert College enjoyed its first visit to UW-Superior and Wessman Arena in nearly three years with a 4-0 non-conference win over the Yellowjackets.

The Green Knights (6-1), playing at Superior for the first time since Jan. 12, 2013, jumped out to a two-goal lead after the first period and remained in control the rest of the way. St. Norbert improved to 22-5-8 against Superior since 2002 and moved its all-time record at Wessman Arena to 12-8-9.

Noah Nelson scored just 1 minutes 5 seconds into the game to give the Green Knights a 1-0 lead. Ross Pavek added to the margin when he scored at the 18:37 mark of the first period, with Nelson assisting.

The Green Knights held their lead at 2-0 all the way until the middle of the third period when Erik Cooper scored a power-play goal at 11:11. Roman Uchyn then added another power-play goal at 17:56 for the game's final margin.

Nelson had St. Norbert's lone multi-point game with one goal and one assist.

St. Norbert outshot Superior 46-22, including a commanding 17-3 edge in the first period. The Green Knights were 2-for-5 on the power play, while the Yellowjackets were 0-for-2.

Tony Kujava made all 22 saves to register his sixth career shutout for St. Norbert. Bryce Fink made 42 stops for Superior (3-3-1).
