Green Knights Blank Finlandia

HANCOCK, Mich. - St. Norbert College outshot Finlandia University by over a 3-to-1 margin and claimed a 2-0 win in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Houghton County Ice Arena.

The Green Knights (3-4, 3-3 NCHA) outshot the Lions (0-7, 0-5) by a 36-11 margin, including 15-2 in the decisive second period.

Following a scoreless first period, the Green Knights cracked the scoring column with a goal by Rebecka Olsson at 12:35, with Allie Patrick and KJ Wallace assisting. It was Olsson's first collegiate goal. St. Norbert added to its lead when Kyle Gazzolo scored at 17:05 of the frame with Kenna Farrey and Abbie Canton assisting.

Finlandia had an extra attacker on the ice in the last 1:30 of the game, but did not score.

Brianna Kelly made 11 saves for the Green Knights, while Breanna Merriam made 34 stops for the Lions.

St. Norbert was 0-for-2 on the power play, while Finlandia was 0-for-4.
