Big Third Period Pushes St. Norbert Past Concordia

MEQUON - St. Norbert College scored three third-period goals to break open a tie game and post a 4-1 win over Concordia University Wisconsin in a Northern College Hockey Association game at Ozaukee Ice Center.

The Green Knights (5-4, 4-3 NCHA) have now won four of their last five games overall after a 1-3 start. Concordia dropped to 3-5-1, 2-5 after losing the first game of the two-game league series.

Emily Bondrager scored her first goal of the season to snap a 1-1 tie with a marker just 13 seconds into the third period. St. Norbert took a two-goal lead on Reaghan Chadwick's power-play goal at the 13:30 mark, and KJ Wallace scored her first collegiate goal to seal the win for the Green Knights at 17:41 of the period.

Kylie Gazzolo put St. Norbert ahead 1-0 after the first period when she scored 12:57 into the game. The Falcons tied it at 1-1 on Jayda Hoerres' power-play goal at 9:11 of the second period.

Lauren Roethlisberger assisted on Chadwick's goal, giving her the school record in assists with 49. The helper surpassed Zoe Kurth's old mark of 48 career assists set from 2011-14.

Wallace and Gazzolo had assists for two-point games, while Myranda Hayes had two assists.

St. Norbert outshot Concordia 38-18. Leigh Grall made 17 saves for the Green Knights and Christina Pattengale made 34 stops for the Falcons.

Both teams were 1-for-4 on the power play.
