Green Knights Forge Tie With Nationally Ranked Foresters

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - St. Norbert College got a goal in the 13th minute of the third period to force a 2-2 stalemate with Lake Forest College in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse.

The Green Knights (12-8-1, 7-6-1 NCHA) got an unassisted goal from Kelli Sorge at the 12:20 mark of the third period - her first collegiate goal - to knot the game at 2-2 against the Foresters (18-1-2, 13-0-1 NCHA), ranked No. 4 in the USCHO.com Division III Poll.

St. Norbert also scored the game's first goal, when Allie Patrick converted a power-play goal at 16:27 of the first period. It was Patrick's second goal of the season.

Lake Forest standout Michelle Greeneway answered with her 29th goal of the season at the 12:29 mark of the second period for a 1-1 tie through 40 minutes.

The Foresters' Olivia Spellmire scored at 10:50 of the third period to give the host a brief 2-1 edge, with Sorge answering 90 seconds later.

Lake Forest held a 4-2 shots advantage in overtime.

The Foresters outshot St. Norbert 28-24. Brianna Kelly made 26 saves for the Green Knights, while Abby Cooper made 22 stops for the Foresters.

St. Norbert was 1-for-2 on the power play and Lake Forest was 0-for-5.
