5,000-Meter Trio Leads St. Norbert at Monmouth Open

MONMOUTH, Ill. - St. Norbert College traveled to west-central Illinois to compete in the unscored Monmouth College Open at Huff Center.

St. Norbert swept the top three places in the 5,000-meter run. Jacob Wittmershaus won the event with a time of 15:44.45, followed by Dan Reigh in second place at 16:12.71. Sasha Maro was third finishing in 16:24.89.

Randy Hill won the high jump with a height clearance of 6-4 1/4. Brad Boockmeier was fourth with a height of 6-0 1/2.

Boockmeier won the shot put with a distance of 48-6 1/4. Dominic DiBenedetto was third with a distance of 45-8 1/2.

Evan Broyles finished in second place in the weight throw with a distance of 52-7.

The Green Knights placed three of the top seven finishers in the 400-meter dash. Ryan Grandlic turned in a time of 50.20 seconds to finish in second place, followed by Tyler Lewis running 50.99 seconds for a third-place showing. Jack Feuerstein placed seventh with a time of 51.98 seconds.

Andrew Lemay placed third in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:58.33.

Feuerstein was fourth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.62 seconds, while Boockmeier was fifth in 8.74 seconds. Kevin Schlichter was fifth in the triple jump with a distance of 41-0 1/2.

Daniel Flood was seventh in the 1-mile run with a time of 4:42.32. Frank Scandin placed eighth in the pole vault with a height of 12-10.
