St. Norbert Opens NCAA Tournament With Unbeaten George Fox

DE PERE - St. Norbert College will face defending national runner-up George Fox University in its first-round NCAA Division III Central Regional Tournament game Friday at UW-Stevens Point.

St. Norbert (21-4) will face George Fox (27-0) at a time to be announced Friday at Berg Gym in Stevens Point. Stevens Point (20-7) will host DePauw University (22-6) in the second game Friday. The regional championship will be Saturday.

St. Norbert is making its 13th NCAA Division III Tournament appearance and its sixth in the last nine years. The Green Knights, who won the Midwest Conference regular-season and tournament championships, are 9-16 all-time in the tournament.

George Fox, of the Northwest Conference, lost to Thomas More in the 2015 national championship game. The Bruins are making their 12th NCAA Division III Tournament appearance and are 28-10 all-time in the tournament.

Stevens Point is making its 11th NCAA Division III Tournament appearance and is 23-9 all-time in the tournament. DePauw is in its 17th NCAA Division III Tournament and is 31-14 all-time in the tournament.

George Fox won the NCAA title in 2009, Stevens Point in 1987 and 2002 and DePauw claimed national titles in 2007 and 2013.
