St. Norbert's Florida Trip Comes to an End

CLERMONT, Fla. - St. Norbert College dropped a pair of games on its last day of its Florida trip with a 10-0 loss to Luther College and a 13-2 defeat at the hands of UW-Whitewater.

Luther, ranked No. 7 in the latest NFCA Division III Poll, scored 10 runs on 11 hits in the top of the first inning to take command of the opener.

The Norse's Amanda Witzlib and Annie Vernik combined on a no-hitter, striking out seven. Francesca Marrese took the loss for the Green Knights.

St. Norbert and Whitewater were tied 2-2 after three innings before the Warhawks scored five runs in the fourth inning and six runs in the fifth inning.

Gina Mastrodomenico scored on a sacrifice in the first inning and Amy McBride had an RBI single in the second inning. The Green Knights finished with five hits.

Lexi LeCalsey took the loss for St. Norbert, allowing five runs on five hits in three innings of relief.
