Green Knights Split Duals to Open Spring Schedule

GREEN BAY - St. Norbert College split a pair of non-conference dual matches to open the spring portion of its 2015-16 schedule, defeating UW-Stevens Point 7-2 before losing by the same score to St. Mary's University at Western Racquet and Fitness.

The Green Knights (12-4) got things started against the Pointers with a pair of doubles wins. Erika Chitko and Elizabeth Manlick beat Katelyn Asfeld and Eileen Emond 8-1 at No. 1, followed by Claire Hetzel and Maggie Krummel's 8-3 win over Frances Weiss and Kaylee Roberts.

Chitko topped Asfeld 7-6 (7-1), 6-3 at No. 1 singles, while Manlick defeated Erin Lemmer 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles. Stephanie Doerfert claimed a 4-6, 6-1, 10-5 win over Emond at No. 4, while Krummel beat Roberts 6-1, 6-2 at No. 6.

Against St. Mary's, Chitko and Manlick teamed up to beat Laura Sonday and Kirsten Hoffmann 8-6 at No. 1 doubles for the Green Knights' lone tandem win.

Chitko beat Sonday 6-4, 6-4 at No. 1 singles for St. Norbert's other point in the dual.
