Three Skaters In Incoming Freshman Class

DE PERE - St. Norbert College's women's hockey program will have three skaters in its incoming freshman class for the 2016-17 school year, coach Meredith Roth announced.

Forwards Libbie Doney and Lisa Lenell and defenseman Katherine Wohletz comprise the newcomers.

Doney, from Ishpeming, Mich., played for the 19-U AA Marquette Sentinels, scoring 25 goals and 13 assists for 38 points. The Sentinels won the state championship and also finished ninth at the national tournament. Doney also plans on competing in the pole vault for the St. Norbert track and field team.

Lenell, from Strangnas, Sweden, played for Sodertalje SK. Lenell totaled eight goals and 13 assists for 21 points in her most recent season.

Wohletz, from Minneapolis, played for Minnehaha United. Wohletz, an all-conference honorable mention selection, scored three goals and three assists for six points.

St. Norbert finished 15-9-4 last season and advanced to the championship game of the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Slaats Cup Playoffs. The Green Knights open their season on Oct. 29 against St. Mary's University.
