Green Knights Advance to MWC Tournament Final for Ninth Consecutive Year

MOUNT VERNON, Iowa - St. Norbert College advanced to the championship match of the Midwest Conference Tournament for the ninth consecutive season after a 3-0 win over Grinnell College in a semifinal match at Cornell College's Small Multi-Sport Center.

The Green Knights (15-14) trimmed the Pioneers 25-15, 25-15, 25-14 to advance to the championship match against Cornell College at 1 p.m. Saturday. St. Norbert is hunting for its first NCAA Division III Tournament berth since 2011.

St. Norbert wasted little time taking control of the match, hitting a robust .319 with 47 kills and 11 errors in 113 attempts. The Green Knights hit .485 in the third set with 17 kills against one error in 33 attempts.

Halie Ferry paced the Green Knights' attack with 16 kills, while Anika Johnson added 11 kills in 22 attempts with no errors. Anna Berghoefer had 23 assists while Emily Rohloff added 16 assists.

Jaisah Lee led the back row with 12 digs while Ali Rueter added 10 digs. Lexie Van Hiel, who also had nine kills, had a team-high seven blocks. Ferry had five blocks and Berghoefer four blocks.

Grinnell hit .057 with 23 kills and 17 errors in 106 attempts. Olivia Fromm led the Pioneers with nine kills.
