Green Knights Can't Climb Out of Hole Against Foresters

DE PERE - St. Norbert College couldn't recover from a four-goal deficit and dropped a 5-3 decision to Lake Forest College in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Cornerstone Community Center.

The Foresters (3-1, 3-1 NCHA) took a 4-0 lead early in the second period. St. Norbert (3-1, 3-1) climbed back to within 4-3 with just over one minute left but couldn't get the equalizer.

Lake Forest got a pair of goals from Jack Lewis at 4:04 and 7:08 of the first period, the latter a power-play goal. The Foresters took a 3-0 lead on a goal by Billy Kent at 19:40 for a 3-0 lead after one period.

The Foresters pushed ahead 4-0 after a goal by Jimmy Cusan at 1:28 of the second period. The Green Knights climbed back into the game with a goal by Brad Pung at 7:22 of the second period and then got a delayed-penalty extra-attacker goal at 14:20 from Tanner Froese.

Froese scored again on a shorthanded extra-attacker goal with 1:01 remaining in regulation time, but the Foresters sealed the win with an empty net goal by Cody Guidorzi with one second left.

St. Norbert, which finished 0-for-9 on the power play, had three 5-on-3 opportunities - one in each period - but came up empty. Lake Forest was 2-for-7.

George Argiropoulos made 30 saves for the Foresters while Tony Kujava made 20 stops for the Green Knights.
