Green Knights Tripped Up Late By Saints

DE PERE - St. Norbert College fought back to even in the third period but couldn't hold off College of St. Scholastica, falling 3-2 in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Resch Olympic Pavilion.

The Green Knights erased a 2-1 deficit after two periods when Natasha Smith scored a power-play goal off a Reaghan Chadwick assist just 2:39 into the third period. The game remained deadlocked until St. Scholastica's Mac Johnson scored unassisted with 4:08 remaining.

St. Norbert had 1:57 of extra-attacker time but couldn't net the equalizer.

The Green Knights took the early lead when KJ Wallace scored unassisted at the 16-minute mark of the first period. The Saints' Kennedy Houge tied the game at 1-1 when scored scored a power-play marker with 23 seconds left in the first period.

St. Scholastica took a 2-1 lead when Alexia Klaas scored a power-play goal at the 1:37 mark of the second period.

The Saints finished 2-for-4 on the power play, while the Green Knights were 1-for-5.

Shots were even at 20 apiece. Leigh Grall made 17 saves for St. Norbert while Lindsey Hartfiel made 18 stops for the Saints.
