Green Knights Return From Break With Win Over Finlandia

HANCOCK, Mich. - St. Norbert College returned from a 34-day break in its schedule in a big way, posting a 7-1 win over Finlandia University in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Houghton County Arena.

The Green Knights (11-2-1, 8-1-1 NCHA), ranked No. 1 in the USCHO.com and D3hockey.com polls, scored twice in the second period to take control of the game after a scoreless first period.

Tanner Froese supplied both of St. Norbert's second-period goals, scoring at 2:20 and 8:58 of the period.

The Green Knights pulled away with a five-goal third period. Jeremy Olinyk scored at 5:24, followed by a Sean Campbell extra-attacker goal on a delayed penalty call at 10:17. The Lions got their only goal at 12:21 on a marker by Kendall Bolen-Porter.

St. Norbert scored the game's final three goals on a Roman Uchyn score at 13:00, Olinyk at 15:16 and Lane Valimont on a power-play score at 18:17. It was Valimont's first collegiate goal.

Olinyk had two assists for a four-point game, while Froese added an assist to finish with a three-point outing. Noah Nelson and Riley Christensen had two assists apiece, while Campbell had an assist to also finish with a multi-point game.

St. Norbert outshot Finlandia 44-21. T.J. Black made 20 saves for St. Norbert, while Alec Rounds made 37 stops for the Lions.

St. Norbert was 1-for-4 on the power play, while Finlandia was 0-for-3.
