Green Knights Split Matches With Edgewood, Winona State

GREEN BAY - St. Norbert College split a pair of non-conference dual matches with a 6-3 loss to NCAA Division II Winona State University before blanking Edgewood College 9-0 at Four Seasons Tennis Club.

The Green Knights (15-8) rolled past Edgewood. Elizabeth Manlick and Meg Witt defeated Alyssa Carew and Sydney Verbauwhede 8-3 at No. 1 doubles, followed by an 8-3 win for Ashley Randazzo and Anna Gosz over Alicia Picard and Jaclyn Swift at No. 2 doubles. Katherine Ake and Stephanie Doerfert beat Haley Brooks and Alexa Lindsay 8-1 at No. 3 doubles.

Manlick beat Picard 6-3, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, while Ake topped Carew 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2. Gosz needed three sets to defeat Verbauwhede in a 7-3, 3-6, 10-2 victory at No. 3.

Randazzo bested Swift 6-1, 6-4 at No. 4, and Witt defeated Brooks 6-3, 6-4 at No. 5. Doerfert outlasted Lindsay 6-2, 1-6, 10-7 at No. 6.

Against Winona State, Ake and Doerfert beat Tayla Card and Katie Scruggs 8-6 at No. 3 for the Green Knights' lone doubles win.

Manlick topped Kaisey Skibba 6-3, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, and Ake beat Justin Daane 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) at No. 2 singles.
