DE PERE - St. Norbert College won for the eight time in its last nine games with an impressive doubleheader sweep of Cornell College by scores of 6-2 and 5-0 in Midwest Conference action at Miron Construction Field at Mel Nicks Sports Complex.

The Green Knights (9-9, 7-1 MWC) held the potent Rams (12-7, 3-3), who were hitting .369 as a team entering the games, to just 11 hits in the twinbill.

St. Norbert would add four runs on six hits in a big fourth-inning uprising. Lexy Campshure doubled in Amanda Diedrich, followed by an Ashley Schuettpelz single to plate Campshure. Brianna Braeger and Randi Morack had RBI singles later in the inning for a 6-1 lead.

Cornell would score a single run in the sixth inning, but the Rams would get no closer.

In the nightcap, St. Norbert and Cornell were locked in a scoreless stalemate until the Green Knights pushed across a single run in the fourth inning when Danforth scored on a wild pitch.

The Green Knights added four runs on four hits in the fifth inning to break the game open. Grall's RBI single scored Amy McBride. Diedrich then blasted a three-run home run to give St. Norbert a five-run cushion.
