DE PERE - St. Norbert College women's tennis player Katherine Ake has been named to the CoSIDA At-Large Academic All-District VI team for the second consecutive year.

Ake, a senior and a Neenah native, holds a 3.98 grade point average in biology. Ake helped the Green Knights to the Midwest Conference Tournament championship and a NCAA Division III Tournament berth. Ake enters Friday's NCAA Tournament match with a 26-11 record in singles play and 30-7 mark in doubles play this season. Ake holds a career record of 96-25 in singles play and 98-23 in doubles action. Ake was the MWC champion at No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles earlier this season. She also won MWC titles at No. 2 doubles as a sophomore and was the No. 3 doubles champion and No. 4 singles runner-up as a freshman.

Ake is a seven-time Dean's List student and has been selected Academic All-Midwest Conference three times. She was also a first-team Academic All-District in 2016.

The at-large team encompasses student-athletes from the sports of bowling, crew, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming, tennis, men's volleyball, women's beach volleyball, water polo and wrestling.

To be eligible for national or district selection, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.0, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at his current institution and be nominated by his sports information director. The Academic All-America team is selected after eight All-District teams of 10 student-athletes each are picked from eight geographic regions nationally.
