Green Knights Complete First Day at NCAA Championship

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - St. Norbert College completed its first day of competition at the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship at Mission Inn Resort sitting in 28th place out of 42 teams.

St. Norbert carded a 321 entering Wednesday's second round. Huntingdon College is the first-round leader with a team score of 293. The top 18 teams plus the top six individual golfers not on a team making the cut advance to the third and fourth rounds starting Thursday.

Luke Bourneuf led St. Norbert with a two-over par 74, sitting in a tie for 24th place out of 215 total contestants. Bourneuf, who had three birdies, shot an even par 35 on the front nine before settling on a two-over par 39 on the back nine.

Ben Bobinski finished with an 80, closing strong with a one-over 38 on the back nine - which included one birdie.

Joe Scherer finished with an 82, while Eric Bagg finished with an 85 and Tony Arnold an 87.

St. Norbert's second round is scheduled to begin at 11:50 a.m. CDT on Wednesday.
