St. Norbert Scores Eight Goals to Top Wisconsin Lutheran

DE PERE - St. Norbert College scored four goals in each half en route to an 8-2 win over Wisconsin Lutheran College in a non-conference match at Schneider Stadium.

The Green Knights (2-1) found themselves down early as Wisconsin Lutheran's Mady Hirsch scored just 1 minute 37 seconds into the match to give the Warriors the lead. St. Norbert responded at 7:32 when Dana Schwab connected on a breakaway to knot the score 1-1.

Danielle Harris scored an unassisted marker at 23:54 to give the Green Knights a lead they would not relinquish. Ellie Lochner then scored a pair of goals before halftime, getting a penalty kick at 33:40 and finished a rebound at 40:12. Wisconsin Lutheran's Gabriella Metten scored a penalty kick at 43:21 to cut the score to 4-2 at halftime.

Madalyn Sanderfoot scored at 46:09 and 50:53 to put St. Norbert ahead 6-2. Monica Stephans added a goal at 64:13, while Anne Oleniczak scored from just over 30 yards out on a strong strike at 87:34.

Lochner added an assist to finish with a five-point game, while Tori Renfus added two assists for the Green Knights.

St. Norbert outshot Wisconsin Lutheran 32-6 and held a 7-3 edge in corner kicks. Ally Magiera made two saves in 73 1/2 minutes of work for St. Norbert, while McKenna Lacy did not make a save in 16 1/2 minutes of relief.
