St. Norbert Picks Up Two MWC Wins

GREEN BAY - St. Norbert College remained unbeaten in the Midwest Conference with a 7-2 win over Knox College and a 9-0 win over Monmouth College at Western Racquet & Fitness Club.

The Green Knights (3-1, 3-0 MWC) opened their match with Knox with a pair of wins in doubles play. Jordyn Lawatsch and Lauren Paulson beat Annaliese McDermott and Maddie Schacht 8-3 at No. 2, while Claire Hetzel and Stephanie Doerfert topped Sierra Henry and Lauren Sparks 8-1 at No. 3.

Lawatsch blanked Buhmika Gupta 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. Meg Witt earned a 6-1, 6-1 win over McDermott at No. 2, while Paulson topped Emily Miller 6-2, 6-4 at No. 3. Hetzel took a 6-4, 6-2 decision over Miranda Corbett at No. 4, and Doerfert beat Henry 6-2, 6-2 at No. 6.

Against Monmouth, Witt and Sofie Koppmann beat Katherine Hinman and Emma Johanns 8-5 at No. 1 doubles. Lawatsch and Paulson defeated Morgan Holle and Natalie Curtis 8-1 at No. 2, while Hetzel and Doerfert topped McKenzie DeVilder and Simone Johnson 8-2 at No. 3.

Lawatsch recorded her second 6-0, 6-0 win of the day at No. 1 singles over Hinman. Witt beat Johanns 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2, while Paulson topped DeVilder 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3. Hetzel needed three sets to get past Holle 6-1, 0-6, 10-6 at No. 4. Koppmann beat Lexi Tibbs 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5, and Doerfert knocked off Curtis 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6.
