St. Norbert Blitzes Ripon

RIPON - St. Norbert College pumped in four first-half goals to send it on its way to a 5-2 win over Ripon College in a Midwest Conference match at Prairie Field.

The Green Knights (7-3-1, 3-0 MWC) used a quick-striking barrage to take and then extend their lead.

Marco Delbecchi converted at 9:19 off an assist from Sean Sladky. The Green Knights added a second goal less than two minutes later when Ben Prange scored his team-high eighth goal of the season on a penalty kick at 11:07. The Red Hawks cut into the lead with a Grant Grywalksy goal at 13:23.

The Green Knights pulled away when Logan Block scored at 43:21. Drew Checolinski then added a backbreaker just eight seconds before halftime off a Jon Gregory assist for his third goal of the season.

Luis Jorgensen scored on a header at 74:17 off a Joe Minneci assist. Ripon scored with one second remaining on a goal by Christian Martinez.

St. Norbert outshot Ripon 23-7 and had a 3-2 edge in corner kicks. Three Green Knight goalkeepers combined to make four saves.
