Green Knights Fall to St. Scholastica

DE PERE - St. Norbert College couldn't slow down College of St. Scholastica's Emily Stegora in a 4-1 loss in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Resch Olympic Pavilion.

Stegora scored St. Scholastica's first three goals of the game and gave the Saints all the scoring they would need.

Stegora's power-play goal at 12:01 of the first period put St. Scholastica ahead 1-0 after 20 minutes. She then scored another power-play marker at 7:15 of the second period to double the lead, but St. Norbert's Emily Bondrager scored her third goal of the season with a goal at 9:01. Emily Boyce and Natasha Smith assisted.

St. Scholastica got the goal back on a shorthanded goal from Stegora at 16:08 of the second period. The Saints got an empty-net goal from Brandi Malwitz at 17:55 of the third period to close out the scoring.

St. Scholastica outshot St. Norbert 28-18. Lexi Thomeczek made 17 saves for the Saints, while Leigh Grall made 24 stops for the Green Knights.

St. Norbert was 0-for-6 on the power play, while St. Scholastica was 2-for-5.
