ASHLAND - St. Norbert College scored four third-period goals but it wasn't enough in a 5-4 defeat at the hands of Northland College in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Bay Area Civic Center.

St. Norbert (15-2-1, 10-1 NCHA) found itself trailing 3-0 after two periods and fell behind 4-0 after Northland's Max Glashauser scored 4-on-4 just 1:27 into the third period. The Green Knights scored a pair of goals shortly thereafter, with Kurt Black and Timmy Nicksic scoring 4-on-4 goals at 1:47 and 2:27 to trim the deficit to 4-2.

Northland answered just six seconds later, getting a 4-on-4 goal by Bailey Shaver at 2:33 for a 5-2 edge. St. Norbert would get goals from Peter Bates at 10:54 and Dominick Sacco at 19:31, but the Green Knights couldn't force overtime.

The Lumberjacks scored at 17:36 of the first period on a Jacob Jeske goal. Northland then got goals early and late in the second period for a 3-0 edge. Josh Racek scored 39 seconds into the frame and Ty Kraus added a goal at 18:44.

St. Norbert outshot Northland 49-26, but Lumberjacks goaltender A.J. Smith made 45 saves. T.J. Black made 17 saves and Ryan Bontorin added four saves for the Green Knights.
