Green Knights Drop Pair In Florida

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - St. Norbert College suffered a pair of losses at the Sunkissed Games, dropping an 11-7 decision to Haverford College and a 9-0 count to Rowan University.

The Green Knights stranded 14 runners on base in the loss to Haverford.

St. Norbert scored three runs in the top of the first inning, getting bases-loaded walks from Lexy Campshure and Leigh Grall and a run-scoring single from Alyssa Sikora, but would leave the bases loaded. Haverford would counter with four runs in its half of the first and three more runs in the second inning for a 7-3 lead.

In the fourth inning Kelsey Berna scored on an error and Campshure stroked an RBI double to cut the deficit to 7-5. The Green Knights added a run in the fifth when Randi Morack drew a bases-loaded walk, but would again leave the bases loaded. The Fords would quell the uprising with four runs in the bottom of the fifth to take an 11-6 lead. Whitney Baumann drove in a run in the sixth inning to close out the scoring for St. Norbert.

Brianna Braeger was 3-for-5 for St. Norbert, while Campshure, Sikora and Amanda Diedrich all had two hits apiece. St. Norbert finished with 13 hits. Ellie Olson took the loss for the Green Knights.

St. Norbert had just two hits against Rowan, singles by Ashley Zimmerman and Sarah Kolterman. Emma Molenhouse took the loss for the Green Knights.
