St. Norbert Splits Against WIAC Foes

DE PERE - St. Norbert College split against a pair of Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponents, defeating UW-Stevens Point 3-0 before falling to UW-Oshkosh 3-1 in non-conference matches at Mulva Family Fitness and Sports Center.

The Green Knights (4-7) topped Stevens Point 25-19, 25-22, 25-19 before battling Oshkosh in a 23-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-15 setback.

St. Norbert was in command against the Pointers, getting a balanced offensive attack while hitting .205 (43 kills with 19 errors in 117 attempts). Grace Baumann had 13 kills, while Halie Ferry added 11. Haley Bartz put down eight balls, and Lexie Van Hiel added seven. Emily Rohloff had 23 assists and Danielle Dolan 16 assists.

The Green Knights dug out 58 Stevens Point attempts, including 20 by Jaisah Lee. Baumann and Ferry had 10 apiece. Van Hiel turned away four attempts with blocks, including two solos. Baumann had St. Norbert's two service aces.

St. Norbert hung in there against the Titans but couldn't quite get over the hump in the second and third sets. The Green Knights were tied with the Titans 23-23 in the third set and were serving, but couldn't get the next point to get momentum.

The Green Knights hit .127 in the match, with 55 kills against 34 errors in 165 attempts. Oshkosh turned away 17 St. Norbert drives by scoring on blocks. Ferry had 18 kills, while Baumann had 12 and Bartz 11 kills. Rohloff and Dolan had 25 assists apiece.

Lee again had 20 digs to pace the St. Norbert defense, while Rohloff added 11. Van Hiel and Hanna Strohm had two blocks apiece.
