St. Norbert Blanks Knox to Sweep Road Trip

GALESBURG, Ill. - St. Norbert College swept its road trip to Illinois this weekend by finishing the sojourn off with a 9-0 win over Knox College at Merdian Tennis Courts.

St. Norbert defeated Monmouth College 9-0 and Illinois College 8-1 on Saturday.

The Green Knights (6-4, 3-2 MWC) got an 8-6 win from Claire Hetzel and Hannah Keller over Bhumika Gupta and Himani Patel at No. 1 doubles. Erin Vits and Hannah Swajanen defeated Kathryn Allee and Mallory Boychuk 8-1 at No. 2 doubles. Morgan Moxon and Meg Witt earned a default win at No. 3.

Witt topped Gupta 6-4, 6-2 to earn a win at No. 1 singles. Hetzel defeated Patel 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2, while Swajanen clipped Allee 6-1, 6-0. Nicole Pfotenhauer and Keller earned 6-0, 6-0 wins over Boychuk and Jamahra Richardson at Nos. 4 and 5 singles, respectively. Moxon also earned a default win at No. 6.
