Green Knights Fall at Cornell in Four Sets

MOUNT VERNON, Iowa - St. Norbert College dropped a key Midwest Conference match at Cornell College 3-1 at Small Multi-Sport Center. The Green Knights fell to the Rams 25-22, 25-17, 26-28, 25-17.

St. Norbert (5-11, 1-1 MWC) almost rallied from deficits of 10-3 and 20-13 in the first set, closing to within 23-22, but the Rams got a pair of kills from Nicole Ciari to clinch the set. The Green Knights came back from a 17-11 deficit in the third set, going on a 10-1 run to take a 21-18 lead. The teams traded points from 23-23 to 26-26 until St. Norbert got the final two points of the set.

The Green Knights hit .161 in the match with 45 kills against 20 errors and 155 attempts. Halie Ferry had 12 kills, while Grace Baumann added 11 kills and Haley Bartz 10. Emily Rohloff had 21 assists and Danielle Dolan added 17 assists.

Jaisah Lee finished with 21 digs for St. Norbert, while Ferry added 13 digs.

Cornell (7-6, 2-0) hit .303 (66-19-155) and was paced by 22 kills from Ciari. Alissa McEndaffer and Allison Eikenberry added 18 and 14 kills, respectively, for the Rams.
