Green Knights Remain Unbeaten With Shutout

DE PERE - St. Norbert College stayed unbeaten with a workmanlike 3-0 win over Illinois College in a Midwest Conference match at Schneider Stadium.

The Green Knights (12-0-1, 5-0 MWC), ranked No. 12 in the latest United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Poll, improved to 23-1-3 in their last 27 matches dating back to last season.

St. Norbert took a 1-0 lead into halftime after scoring the first half's only goal in the 29th minute. Jonnie Winkler fed Seth Boldt, who converted from about 15 yards out for his third goal of the season.

Logan Block scored for the sixth time in 2018 when he cashed in a penalty kick at the 46:46 mark. Tiernan Guinn then scored his third goal of the season after taking a cross from Boldt for a 3-0 lead at 65:04.

St. Norbert outshot Illinois College 13-4 and held a 6-2 edge in corner kicks. Matt Pilewski made four saves for the Green Knights, while Max Handrich did not see a shot working the last 14 minutes. Raul Rubalcava made four saves for the Blueboys.
