Christensen in Natural Hat Trick as St. Norbert Blanks Trine

ANGOLA, Ind. - St. Norbert College senior forward Riley Christensen posted a natural hat trick as the Green Knights went on to a 4-0 win over Trine University in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Thunder Ice Arena.

The Green Knights (3-1, 2-1 NCHA), ranked No. 3 in the USCHO.com and D3hockey.com Division III polls, bounced back from their first loss of the season with a shutout victory heading into Saturday's key game at Adrian College.

Christensen scored the game's last three goals to post his first career hat trick to lead the Green Knights.

Following a scoreless first period, St. Norbert got on the board early in the second when Peter Bates scored at the 1:11 mark. Christensen followed with goals at 8:18 and 16:16 to give the Green Knights a 3-0 edge at second intermission.

Christensen then capped off the night with a power-play goal at 7:55 of the third period.

Timmy Nicksic and Keegan Milligan each had two assists to join Christensen with a multi-point game.

T.J. Black made 16 saves for St. Norbert to post his 14th career shutout. Black's shutout total is now tied for fourth in NCAA Division III history. Brett Young made 34 saves for Trine.

St. Norbert outshot the Thunder 38-16, including 25-10 in the first two periods. The Green Knights were 1-for-3 on the power play, while Trine was 0-for-4.
