Green Knights Cruise Past Lawrence

DE PERE - St. Norbert College christened Mulva Pool in a big way with a 135-92 dual win over Lawrence University in the first home meet in school history.

The Green Knights, picked for fifth in the pre-season Midwest Conference Coaches' Poll, charged past the Vikings, who were slotted for fourth this season after finishing in the same spot at last season's MWC Championship.

Ben Stolberg and Jaxsen Schermacher each won a pair of individual events for St. Norbert.

Stolberg won the 50-yard freestyle in 22.59 seconds and the 100-yard butterfly in 55.25 seconds. Schermacher won both of his diving events, registering scores of 114.45 and 167.75 points.

The 400-yard freestyle relay of Stolberg, Peter Martin, Jeffrey Green and Grant Gibson won with a time of 3:25.60.

Galutira and Martin each had first- and second-place finishes in individual events. Galutira claimed the 100-yard backstroke in 57.70 seconds and was runner-up in the 50-yard freestyle in 22.77 seconds. Martin won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:07.43 and was second in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:10.09.

Gibson won the 100-yard freestyle in 50.79 seconds, while Alex Cervantez was second in 51.65 seconds.

Green finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:09.75, while Brian Meyer was second in a diving event with a score of 99.90 points.
