Green Knights Place Second at Wisconsin Private College Championship

KENOSHA - St. Norbert College ended with an impressive second-place showing in its first year as a program while competing at the Wisconsin Private College Championships at Carthage College.

The Green Knights registered 88 points, clipping Ripon College's 85 points and Lawrence University's 84 points. Carthage won the team title with 235 points.

The 200-yard freestyle relay of Ben Stolberg, Grant Gibson, Alex Cervantez and Jed Galutira finished in second place with a time of 1:31.28. The quartet of Galutira, Peter Martin, Jason Hunt and Jeffrey Green was third in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:44.46.

Stolberg finished second in the 50-yard freestyle in 22.18 seconds. He was fourth in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:50.20 and the 100-yard butterfly in 54.83 seconds. Martin was third in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:03.69 and the 400-yard individual medley in 4:34.14. Galutira added a third-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke in 58.09 seconds, while Hunt was third in the 200-yard butterfly in 2:14.28.

Gibson finished fourth in the 100-yard freestyle in 49.78 seconds, sixth in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:52.84 and seventh in the 50-yard freestyle in 23.07 seconds. Jarod Meffert was fourth in the 200-yard backstroke in 2:09.57 and sixth in the 100-yard backstroke in 58.70 seconds. Jaxsen Schermacher was fourth in 1-meter diving with 265.40 points, while Logan Stefl was fifth with 243.45 points.

Cervantez was fifth in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:11.62. Peadar McGrath was sixth in the 400-yard individual medley in 5:06.41 and was eighth in the 1,650-yard freestyle in 20:49.30. Green was seventh in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:34.14.
