St. Norbert Falls in Nailbiter With Monmouth

GREEN BAY - St. Norbert College opened Midwest Conference play with a 5-4 loss to Monmouth College at Western Racquet & Fitness Club.

The Green Knights took a 2-1 lead with a pair of doubles wins. Alex Vandenberg and Luke Andrekus earned an 8-5 win over Andrew Shie and Brendan Guenther at No. 2, while Matt La Violette and Jordan Crump defeated Alex Martin and Nicholas Robertson 8-1 at No. 3.

Monmouth won four of six singles matches to take the dual win. The Green Knights' lone singles victories came when Vandenberg tipped Guenther 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5 and Porter Beilfuss topped Robertson by the same score at No. 6.
