DE PERE, Wis. - St. Norbert College has named Amanda Leonhard-Perry as its next women's basketball coach, athletics director Tim Bald announced today.

Leonhard-Perry has spent the last 11 seasons as an assistant coach at the highly successful NCAA Division I program at UW-Green Bay. She has helped the Phoenix to 10 regular-season Horizon League titles, eight conference tournament championships, nine NCAA Tournament appearances and two trips to the WNIT. During those 11 seasons, Green Bay fashioned a glittering 333-62 record, a winning percentage of .843.

"Amanda is a proven winner and leader as a coach and player at Green Bay, and we are looking forward to her doing the same here at St. Norbert," Bald said. "She possesses several outstanding qualities as a person and coach that will strongly contribute to the success and culture of the women's basketball program, our athletic department and the college as a whole."

Leonhard-Perry succeeds Connie Tilley, who is retiring after 42 years at the helm of the women's basketball program. Leonhard-Perry officially begins her duties at St. Norbert on June 1.

"I would like to thank St. Norbert College for the opportunity to be its women's basketball coach," Leonhard-Perry said. "I would also like to thank everyone at Green Bay for the past 11 years - it is a special place and will always be important to me.

"I'm so excited to get started. I can't wait to get to work with the team I met during my interview. The players have a great energy and I believe they are hungry to continue the success of this program. The guidance and leadership that Coach Tilley has devoted to this place is special. I can only hope to make her proud of us moving forward."

Prior to joining the Green Bay staff, Leonhard-Perry served as an assistant coach at North Dakota State University for three seasons. After completing her playing career, she was an assistant coach at Green Bay Preble High School for three seasons, helping the Hornets to the semifinals of the 2003 WIAA Division 1 state tournament.

A decorated, four-year player at Green Bay, Leonhard-Perry was a part of teams that finished 86-35 and played in three NCAA Tournaments and won four regular-season conference championships. She led the Phoenix in scoring and was a first-team all-conference selection as a sophomore, finishing her career with 1,097 points, 332 assists, 189 steals and 114 three-point field goals. Leonhard-Perry was also a two-time academic all-conference selection.

Leonhard-Perry is a 2003 graduate of UW-Green Bay with a degree in business administration and completed a master's degree in sport and recreation at North Dakota State in 2010.

A native of Ladysmith, Wis., she is married to Ray Perry. The couple has a daughter, Addison, and resides in Green Bay.
