DECATUR, Ill. - St. Norbert College picked up a doubleheader split with College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin foe Millikin University, losing the first game 6-1 before winning the nightcap 4-3 at Sunnyside Park.

The Green Knights got a solid starting pitching performance in Game 2 from Nick Klavekoske, who worked 7 1/3 innings and allowed just five hits and one run along with two walks and three strikeouts. Ben Kohl worked a clean ninth inning for his fourth save of the year.

St. Norbert took a 1-0 lead in the second inning when Connor Yakel's double drove in Keagan McCarthy. The Green Knights added another run in the third inning on Lucas Reynolds' solo home run. St. Norbert augmented its lead with two runs in the fourth inning thanks to Keagan McCarthy's two-run home run.

Those runs would hold up until Millikin would score three runs on four hits in the eighth inning, but Sam Hunt came out of the bullpen to get a big strikeout to end the inning and escape the jam.

Sean Ferraro and Brett Reinhart would have two hits apiece for the Green Knights, who had 10 hits overall.

In the opener, Millikin built a 6-0 lead after five innings and St. Norbert finished with just four hits. The Green Knights scored their lone run in the ninth inning when Michael Larsen's single brought in Trevor Cornell.

Tommy Maher took the loss for St. Norbert, allowing five hits and five runs in four innings pitched.
