Five Qualify for NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship

DE PERE - St. Norbert College qualified five thinclads in three different events to the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship to be held May 23-25 at SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
Senior Sarah Duff, sophomore Morgan McClone, junior Maddie Lebrun and freshman Cora Purdue all qualified in the 4x400-meter relay. Lebrun also qualified in the 400-meter dash, while senior Graceanne Tarsa qualified in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
Tarsa turned in a time of 10:55.29 in the steeplechase to earn the 16th seeding in the event. The preliminary races will be held at 4:25 p.m. Thursday, while the championship is set for 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
The relay is seeded 12th with a qualifying time of 3:50.38 and will race in preliminary heats at 5:15 p.m. Thursday. The championship is scheduled for 2:50 p.m. Saturday. They are the first-ever St. Norbert women's relay to qualify for the outdoor national meet.
Lebrun qualified for the 400 with a time of 56.95 seconds to be seeded 18th and will race in the preliminaries at 2 p.m. Friday. The championship is scheduled for 12:10 p.m. Saturday.
This is the 13th consecutive year St. Norbert has had at least one qualifier for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship.
