St. Norbert Opens MWC Play With Sweep of Ripon

DE PERE - St. Norbert College began Midwest Conference action with a 3-0 win over Ripon College at Mulva Sports Center. The Green Knights (10-6, 1-0 MWC) swept the Red Hawks (2-13, 0-1) by scores of 25-16, 25-19, 25-12.

The Green Knights turned in a balanced offensive effort, with four players getting at least seven kills. St. Norbert hit .267 in the match, getting 41 kills against 14 errors in 101 attempts. The Green Knights hit .379 in the third set, with 12 kills against one error in 29 attempts.

Grace Baumann had a match-high 11 kills, while Emily Terry added nine kills. Lexie Van Hiel finished with eight kills, while Jessica Geurts had seven kills along with four service aces. Emily Rohloff finished with 33 assists.

Liz Maastricht had 20 digs, while Rohloff added eight. Van Hiel had a team-high three blocks.

Ripon hit .093 (25-16-97) for the match. Inesha Wiseman had a team-high eight kills.
