DE PERE - St. Norbert College won for the third consecutive outing - all via shutout - as the Green Knights picked up a big 3-0 win over Lawrence University in a Midwest Conference match at a rainy Schneider Stadium.
The Green Knights (8-2-2, 2-0-1 MWC) have allowed just four goals in their last 10 matches.
St. Norbert got on the scoreboard when Caden Etzel finished off an initial Domenic DeMaria shot for a goal at 15:47, Etzel's second marker of the season. The Green Knights would carry that 1-0 lead into halftime.
The Green Knights picked up a pair of second-half markers. Mitchell Scholz scored for the fourth time this season when Anthony Pineda served a free kick into right in front of the goal for a score at 52:17. St. Norbert salted the game away when Brandon DiOrio played a ball through to Seth Boldt, who scored his 10th goal of the year on a breakaway try at 70:28.
St. Norbert outshot Lawrence 16-5, including 7-1 in the second half. The Green Knights also had a commanding 9-3 edge in corner kicks.
Matt Pilewski worked the first 77:23 in goal for St. Norbert, getting two saves. Daniel Yurk did not see a shot in relief. Hunter Lanton made eight saves for the Vikings.
