St. Norbert Pulls Away From Ripon

DE PERE - St. Norbert College improved to 3-0-1 in its last four games after a solid 4-1 win over Ripon College in a Midwest Conference match at Schneider Stadium.

The Green Knights (7-8-1, 3-3-1 MWC) is now in fifth place with 10 points, one point behind fourth-place Grinnell College with two games remaining in conference play.

St. Norbert scored the match's only first-half goal when Anna Tristani cleaned up a loose ball in the the box at 34:52, with Emily Grozlancyk getting an assist.

The Green Knights pushed ahead 2-0 when Hanna Lech converted a 2-on-the-goalkeeper chance at 67:48, with Miranda Hansen assisting. The Red Hawks got back into the match when Brianna Schnell scored on a shot from the goal line but the ball sneaked past the goalkeeper to halve the deficit at 72:06.

St. Norbert salted the match away in the final seven minutes. Lech scored on a well-placed shot from about 20 yards out at 83:05 for her fourth goal of the season, with Anja Jacobsen receiving an assist. Tristani then scored her sixth goal of the season on a breakaway with the help of Cara Donegan at 84:09.

St. Norbert outshot Ripon 15-14 with corner kicks even at eight a side. Ally Magiera made five saves working the first 75 minutes for the Green Knights, while Ava Seifert made two stops in relief. Stefani Zeiger made nine saves for the Red Hawks.
