Two New Pool Records Set In Season Opener

DE PERE - St. Norbert College earned a pair of new pool records as the Green Knights opened their season with a 137-84 loss to Macalester College in a dual meet at Mulva Pool.

Natalie Norton set a new pool mark in the 1,000-yard freestyle in 11:50.62, while Katelyn Holmstrom also eclipsed a facility record with a time of 2:37.49 in the 200-yard breaststroke.

The Green Knights had two other first-place event finishes. Kirsten Williams took the 50-yard freestyle in 27.50 seconds, winning the event by 0.01 seconds. Norton won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:47.49.

St. Norbert had five runner-up finishes. The 400-yard medley relay of Miranda Wilson, Holmstrom, Rachel Koch and Amelia Wilcox finished with a time of 4:20.76, while Sophia Thompson, Williams, Clare Santas and Norton completed the 400-yard freestyle in 4:06.19.

Santas was the runner-up in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:06.69, while Holmstrom was second in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:23.95. Koch finished the 200-yard butterfly in 2:34.83.
