St. Norbert Clinches MWC Tournament Berth

DE PERE - St. Norbert College clinched a berth into the Midwest Conference Tournament with a 1-0 win over Cornell College at Schneider Stadium.

The Green Knights (12-4-2, 5-1-1) now have 16 points in the MWC race and are guaranteed a top-four finish to qualify for the conference tournament.

St. Norbert got the game's lone goal when Evan Watzka served a well-placed cross into the front of the cage, where Caden Etzel finished it at the 34:15 mark for his fourth goal of the season.

The Green Knights, who had ball possession for 67 percent of the action, outshot the Rams 12-4. St. Norbert also held a 7-1 edge in corner kicks.

Josh Koleske did not see a shot in posting his 16th career shutout. Tom Gallagher made six stops in goal for Cornell.
