Green Knights End Exhibition Slate at Marquette

MILWAUKEE - St. Norbert College closed out its two-game exhibition schedule in the 2019-20 season with an 88-51 loss to Marquette University at Fiserv Forum.

The Green Knights hung around early, forging a 10-10 about nine minutes into the game against the Golden Eagles, who are receiving votes in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll. St. Norbert trailed 17-15 with 8:41 left in the first half until Marquette went on a 12-0 run over the next 3:18 to pull away. Marquette led 35-22 at halftime.

St. Norbert trailed 37-26 with 18:01 left after a Jacob Bolwerk hoop, but Marquette then went on a 19-6 run over the next 6:09 to take a 56-32 lead.

The Green Knights played 16 players, with only two players getting over 20 minutes. St. Norbert shot 32.8 percent from the floor, making 21 of 64 field-goal attempts. Jared Murphy led St. Norbert with nine points, while Danen added eight. Nolan Beirne and Carson Talbert had six points apiece.

Marquette, which shot 56.9 percent (33-for-58) from the floor, got 15 points from Brendan Bailey and 14 points from Koby McEwen. All-America guard Markus Howard totaled 12 points.
