St. Norbert Plunders Buccaneers in Regular-Season Finale

LOVES PARK, Ill. - St. Norbert College enjoyed its largest margin of victory this season with an 8-1 Midwest Conference win over Beloit College in the Green Knights' regular-season final at Wedgbury Stadium.

The win was also Derek Rhodes' 100th win as head coach of the Green Knights.

The Green Knights (14-4-2, 7-1-1 MWC) got two goals from Drake Vandermause about three minutes apart midway through the first half to take control. Vandermause scored at 20:43 and 23:32 for a 2-0 lead. Jonnie Winkler then scored at 31:38 off an assist from Lucas Rojas for a 3-0 lead, which would carry into halftime.

Mitchell Scholz got things started for St. Norbert in the second half, scoring at 51:04. Beloit would score on a marker from Deji Agunbiade at 58:17, but the Green Knights would get the goal back moments later on a penalty kick by Anthony Pineda at 60:52.

Ryan Feuerstein scored for the Green Knights at 79:55, followed by Jacob Hause at 84:56 with Feuerstein assisting, and Jonah Koleske at 88:07.

St. Norbert outshot Beloit 34-2 and had an 8-0 edge on corner kicks. Josh Koleske, Ben Holtzen and Matt Pilewski combined to make one save for the Green Knights.
