St. Norbert Post-Season Run Ends in NCAA Tournament's Second Round

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - St. Norbert College saw a solid post-season run come to a close with a 3-1 loss to Calvin University in a second-round NCAA Division III Tournament game at Eagles Stadium.

The Green Knights finished the season with a 16-5-3 overall record after reaching the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the third time in school history. This season marked the third time in the last four seasons St. Norbert has won at least 16 matches.

No. 2-ranked Calvin got a couple early goals to take control. Hunter Olson scored 5:52 into the game to give Calvin a lead, and Sam Twigg followed with a marker at 13:13 for a 2-0 edge. The Knights pushed their lead to 3-0 on another goal by Twigg at 31:31.

St. Norbert would get back into the game with a goal just before halftime, when Drake Vandermause scored at 43:39. The goal was Vandermause's seventh of the season, and was assisted by Anthony Pineda and Mitchell Scholz.

St. Norbert would get some pressure in the second half, but couldn't draw closer. Calvin outshot St. Norbert 9-5 in the second half and 16-6 for the match. The Knights also had a 5-0 edge in corner kicks.

Josh Koleske made three saves in goal for the Green Knights. Chris Morrish made one stop for Calvin.
