St. Norbert Falls In Overtime To Marian

DE PERE - St. Norbert College came up short in a 2-1 overtime loss to Marian University in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Cornerstone Community Center.
Marian's Connor Blanck scored a 5-on-3 power-play goal with 28 seconds remaining in overtime to lift the Sabres (4-3, 3-3 NCHA) to the series sweep of the Green Knights (2-6, 1-5).
St. Norbert took a 1-0 lead in the first period when Peter Bates scored a 4-on-4 goal at the 6:28 mark, with Peyton Frantti and Brendan Mark assisting. The Green Knights would outshoot Marian 13-2 in the first period, but came up empty on six power-play chances in the first 20 minutes of action.
Marian would get the equalizer with a power-play goal by Clay Cross just 2:01 into the second period.
St. Norbert outshot Marian 34-31, but Hunter Vorva made 33 saves for the Sabres. Ryan Bontorin made 29 saves for the Green Knights.
St. Norbert was 0-for-8 on the power play, while Marian was 2-for-7.
