St. Norbert Worn Down Late by Pointers

STEVENS POINT - St. Norbert College battled UW-Stevens Point to nearly a stalemate for two full periods, but the Green Knights eventually succumbed to the Pointers 5-0 in a non-conference game at Ice Hawks Arena.

The Green Knights and Pointers fought to a scoreless game until the closing moments of the second period, when Stevens Point's Nicole Neuberger scored a power-play goal with six seconds remaining in the frame.

Stevens Point would ride the momentum early in the third period, when Ashtyn Wiltscheck scored at 1:08 and Dani Heitsman at 2:05. The Pointers salted the game away with markers by Kiley Hahner at 5:34 and a power-play goal by Mary Kremer at 14:49.

The Pointers outshot the Green Knights by a 38-23 margin. Evi Johnson made 33 saves in goal for the Green Knights, while Olivia Schultz made 23 stops for the Pointers.

St. Norbert was 0-for-3 on the power play, while Stevens Point was 2-for-3.
