Norton Sets New School Record at Carthage Invite

KENOSHA - St. Norbert College freshman Natalie Norton set a new school record as the Green Knights competed on the first day of the Carthage College Classic at Koenitzer Aquatic Center.

Norton turned in a 1,000-yard freestyle split of 11:28.26 to break a 16-year old school record. Norton's time eclipsed the old standard set by Stacy Hlavach in 2003-04 with a time of 11:31.65. Norton finished seventh in the 1,650-yard freestyle with an overall time of 18:59.93.

St. Norbert had a fifth-place finish in the 800-yard freestyle relay, with the quartet of Sophia Thompson, Amelia Wilcox, Rachel Koch and Clare Santas posting a time of 8:26.17.

The Green Knights continue with the second of three days at the Carthage Classic at 9 a.m. Friday.
